Penrith Man Given Five Year Ban from Entering Six Penrith Shops as part of Criminal Behaviour Order

The Eden Neighbourhood Policing Team have secured a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) against a man from Penrith.

The order was secured at Carlisle Magistrates Court on 24th September against David Ostle, aged 33, where he also appeared for two counts of shoplifting.

Ostle’s Criminal Behaviour Order, which is in place for five years, include conditions not to enter:

Sainsbury’s Common Garden Square, Penrith

Spar on Sandgate, Penrith

B&M on Middlegate, Penrith

B&M on Bridge Lane, Penrith

Morrisons on Brunswick Road, Penrith

M&S Foodhall on King Street, Penrith

PC Stewart Green, Eden Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We hope by securing this Criminal Behaviour Order it will provide the local community with some reassurance.

“The order will help protect business owners and local residents.

“I would encourage anyone who witnesses David Ostle breaching terms of the order to contact police.”

Breaches of the conditions of a CBO can lead to an arrest and punishment can be up to five years in prison. Ostle does not need to have committed any offences whilst in the shops to breach to order.
