A66 lane closures between Kemplay and junction 40 are leading to delays and tailbacks in and round Penrith this morning.
With traffic queues on the M6 southbound exiting onto J40, on the A66 drivers are facing delays of around 20minuites between Kemplay and J40 in both directions and the A66 approach from Stainton onto J40 also has traffic queuing with delays of around 15 minuites currently.
Traffic heading out of Penrith on to Kemplay is facing short delays of around 10mins currently.
The lane closures are in place ahead of works starting to strengthen the carriageway and installation of CCTV cameras by National Highways as part of the A66 upgrade works.
